PAIA manual.

Access to records under the Promotion of Access to Information Act, 2 of 2000.

LAST UPDATED: JULY 2026

1. About this manual

Zolabix(Pty) Ltd maintains this manual in terms of section 51 of the Promotion of Access to Information Act, 2 of 2000 ("PAIA"), read with the Protection of Personal Information Act, 4 of 2013 ("POPIA"). It explains what records we hold and how to request access to them. A complete copy of the manual is available on request from the Information Officer at no charge.

2. Information Officer

Requests are handled by our registered Information Officer:

3. Categories of records we hold

  • Certification records: applications, audit reports, certification agreements, nonconformity records, certification decisions and issued certificates
  • Client and personnel records: company profiles, contact details, auditor competence and qualification records
  • Company records: statutory, financial, operational and personnel records of the company itself
  • Policies: our public certification policies are available without a PAIA request on the Policies & Transparency page

4. How to request a record

  • Complete the prescribed request form (Form 2), available from the Information Regulator at inforegulator.org.za, and send it to the Information Officer above.
  • Identify the record clearly, state which right you seek to exercise or protect (where the requester is not the person the record is about), and provide proof of identity.
  • The prescribed PAIA fees may apply; we will notify you of any fee before processing the request.
  • We respond within 30 days, as required by PAIA. Certain records are protected from disclosure — including other clients' confidential certification information, which we are bound to protect under ISO/IEC 17021-1.

To access or correct your own personal information, you do not need a PAIA request — see the simpler process in our Privacy Policy.

5. Remedies

If your request is refused, you may lodge a complaint with the Information Regulator (complaints.IR@inforegulator.org.za) or apply to court.
